ICOM14
The International Conference on Mycorrhiza met for the last time in Canada in 2003 in Montréal (ICOM4), which led to the founding of the International Mycorrhiza Society by Canadian researchers a few years later. Now, a quarter of a century later, the time has come to welcome ICOM back to Canada. The last 25 years have also seen the onset of climate change, pollution, and biodiversity loss that threaten a sustainable future. ICOM14 will focus on the role of mycorrhiza in addressing these global environmental issues, while paying tribute to the great names of Canadian mycorrhizal research in the vibrant city of Québec.
Founded in 1608 by Samuel de Champlain, Québec City, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is the cradle of French civilization in North America. With its fortified Old Town, the Historic District of Old Québec, European charm and location at the crossroads of the Huron-Wendat, Wabanaki, Innu, Atikamekw and Wolastoqey First Nations, Québec City is a unique blend of heritage, European and North American culture. Located on the St. Lawrence River and surrounded by the Laurentian Mountains, Québec city will offer the delegates a variety of natural attractions and outdoor recreational opportunities.
Québec City’s accessibility, academic excellence, natural and historical attractions, linguistic diversity, and supportive infrastructure make it an optimal choice to host the 14th International Conference on Mycorrhiza in August 2028.
