Plant species involved:
It has been estimated that over 85% of all vascular plants form arbuscular mycorrhizas. Arbuscular mycorrhizas have been identified in a broad spectrum of plants, including liverworts, ferns, and other seedless vascular plants, groups within the gymnosperms, including conifers (e.g., Thuja, Sequoia, Metasequoia), Ginkgo biloba, Ephedra, Welwitschia, and the cycads, and the majority of angiosperm families. Among the angiosperms, most species in the Magnoliids, Eudicots, and Monocots are associated with arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi.
The few angiosperm families that do not have arbuscular mycorrhizas either form other categories of mycorrhizas or lack mycorrhizas.
